During some amateur radio contacts in spring 1993 between the Funkergilde of the VCP-Bremen with DF0VCP, radio-clubstation, and Reinhard, DH6DAO, a DPSG-scout from Soest together an idea was born, to create an - for all interest - open circle by amateur radio, which turns of course to all German scouts with an own amateur radio licence. This was the beginning to the "deutsches Pfadfindernetz", the "German-Scout-Net" (GSN).

One time in a month the circle meet themself on the hf-band (80m) - by changing participation - to give scout-(radio-)news, to talk about common activities and to exchange general informations.

By the wish, to meet the "anonymous" talk-partner personally, there grow the idea of an "eyeball-sked", a weekend-meeting. So in may 1994 a first informal meeting with scouts from all three German scout associations of the RdP take place in a cottage close to Braunfels (Wetzlar).

In the following years these weekend-meetings one a year went on - mostly the second weekend in may.

In the time the yearly meetings get more and more meaning, and for the NJO's (National-JOTA-Organizer) this became an expanded platform and support for their work. Up today the following themes are included to the weekends:

  - Exchanging of informations and mutual meeting
  - presentation of an amateur radio-/internet- theme (Learning-by-Doing)
  - General plannings to JOTA/JOTI and other national radio scouting activities
  - Sightseeing-tour
  - run an amateur radio station / internet

One participation group takes over the planning of the next meeting by organizating board and lodging close to their home-towns an a visiting to the town and/or special areas.
