How to take part in JOTI via email If you do not have access to IRC or WWW you may still take part in JOTI. JOTI is a meeting of scouts on the Internet, and the internet does not consist only of WWW and IRC but also of email. Below are just a couple of hints to keep in mind when planning to take part in JOTI via email. Start early First of all it is important to get in touch with other groups as early as possible, this means before the actual JOTI weekend. You need to have collected other groups email addresses by the JOTI weekend so that you will be able to start communicating straight away and dont spend most of the time searching for other groups. To get the email addresses of other groups search our Contacts Database. Of course, if you plan to base some of your group's JOTI contacts through E-mail, we encourage you to add the group to this database as well. Do not use your normal email address One thing to keep in mind is that you do not want to receive loads of email in your usual mailbox after JOTI, which you did not ask for. To ensure that your usualy mailbox remains free, we recommend that you setup a seperate JOTI-only mailbox with a free web-based email provider. You can get FREE web-based e-mail accounts from providers such as GMX, Bigfoot and Yahoo. | ![]() |
