The project will contribute to the realization of initiatives in youth work and community work. Adults and adolescents will have a chance to consider themselves as valued members of a new village community, as they are actively involved in planning their own future and environment.
As Europeans we can learn to recognise the African way of life and the possibilities and problems of an African country and experience how good preparation for effective international cooperation can be developed.
The extent of work will not be governed by our European ideas as how things should be done, but by the developed aims which the Kenyan scouts and population of Miritini will determine together with us.
The organisations of adult scouts from Italy, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein will work with the “Fondazione Brownsea” and the “Kenya Scout Association” to find a common base which will facilitate a gentle and effective development in Miritini.
This will be done together with the people living there! Their way of life, their habits and their traditions should have it’s place in a modern community as well.
Through working together international friendship will grow, which are based on mutual understanding and acceptance.
